DJs for events and residency

DJs for weddings (with mic and MC duties throughout the evening), corporate events (daytime background + after-party), private parties and bar / club residencies. We match by style (open-format, deep house, latin, hip-hop) and equipment (own console or venue PA). For resident roles in restaurants or clubs, employers recruit directly through the PHE platform.

DJ types

A wedding DJ does a different job from a club resident. Reading the room, handling key moments (couple's entrance, first dance, cake cutting), seamless transitions — all distinct skills. We filter candidates by event context:

Wedding DJ
Full 6–10h set: ceremony (where applicable), welcome cocktail, dinner (background), main party, after-party. Includes mic for announcements (couple's entry, cake cutting, key moments). Requires ability to read a multi-generational room.
Corporate DJ
Two registers: daytime (discreet background for conferences, galas, business lunches) and after-party (energetic, danceable). For product launches and brand events, can build a custom themed set.
Club / bar resident DJ
Recurring weekly set (typically Thursday–Sunday). Builds a loyal audience for the venue. For Bucharest clubs, rates depend on night and slot (Friday late > Sunday afternoon).
Genre-specialised DJ
Deep house, EDM, hip-hop, latin, soul / funk, reggae. For events with a clear musical brief or a specific audience (corporate with international guests — usually electronic; traditional wedding — usually RO mix + international classics).
Equipment
PHE DJs bring their own console (CDJ / XDJ / Denon Prime + mixer), dynamic microphone, monitor. PA speakers and lighting usually come from the venue. On request we can arrange portable PA via partners (separate cost).

The right DJ setup for your event

Typically one DJ covers the entire event, but for long sessions or events with multiple audio zones we recommend different setups:

How it works for DJs

  1. 01Quote with a musical brief

Send: event type, duration, location, audience (age range, taste), must-play / don't-play playlist, whether you want an MC. Clearer brief = better match.

  2. 02Receive proposals with demos

Within 48h we propose 2–3 DJs, each with a demo link (SoundCloud / Mixcloud) or a recorded set from prior events. For specific needs (genres, themed brief), we filter more strictly.

  3. 03Confirm and agree on setlist

At least 2 weeks ahead, the DJ confirms the tech rider (mic, monitor, power) and you agree on the setlist (or grant full freedom, depending on your preference).

  4. 04Sign and invoice

Service contract with PHE invoice + VAT. For permanent roles (club / bar residency), the employer recruits directly through the platform.

FAQ — DJs

How much does a DJ cost for a wedding?+

Standard 8h Bucharest wedding: 1,500–2,500 RON junior, 2,500–4,000 RON mid (most common), 4,000–8,000 RON senior with portfolio. For DJs with strong personal branding (radio, well-known), rates can reach 8,000–15,000+ RON, but booking goes directly through their manager.

Does the DJ bring their own gear or do we use the venue's?+

The DJ brings their own console (CDJ / XDJ / Denon Prime + mixer), dynamic microphone, basic monitor. PA speakers and lighting usually come from the venue. For outdoor events or venues without PA, we can arrange portable PA via partners (separate cost 500–1,500 RON / event).

Can I give a list of songs I want?+

Yes — recommended. Typical: 20–30 must-play songs (your favourites and those of key guests), 5–10 don't-play (genre / artist you want avoided), optionally a list for key moments (entrance, first dance, cake cutting). The DJ builds the rest by reading the room's reactions.

Does the DJ also MC or only handle music?+

Most wedding DJs in the PHE pool also do basic announcements (couple's entrance, cake moment, organising games). For corporate events with a pro MC (briefings, speaker intros, elaborate games), we recommend booking a separate MC — the DJ stays on music.

How far in advance should I book the DJ?+

For weekend dates in wedding season (May–September), 6–12 months ahead is the norm for mid / senior DJs. For off-season dates or Thursday / Friday slots, 2–4 weeks is enough. For under-7-day urgent requests, it's tight in season (good DJs are already booked); off-season, possible with backups.

Do you have DJs for specific genres (deep house, latin, hip-hop)?+

Yes, we filter by specialty. For deep house / techno / electronic — 4–5 specialist DJs. For latin (salsa, bachata, reggaeton) — 2 DJs. For hip-hop / R&B — 3 DJs. For events with a strict musical brief, we attach a demo mix before confirmation.

Do you have DJs for permanent residencies in clubs / restaurants?+

Yes. For permanent resident roles, the employer recruits directly through the PHE platform — post the requirement (weekday slots, musical style, target audience), receive applications. Market norms for permanent placement: 1.0–1.5× one month's salary / agreed fee.

I'm a DJ — how do I join?+

Sign up from the „I'm a candidate” page. For DJs we ask for: a demo mix link (SoundCloud / Mixcloud) or a recorded set from prior events, your equipment list, your primary and secondary genres. Once accepted, you receive bookings via email / WhatsApp. Registration is free.
