Who we work with on the coast

Constanța and Mamaia are Romania's busiest HoReCa season. PHE works with three client types:

[ 01 ]

4–5★ hotels in Mamaia and Mamaia Nord

Steady demand May–September: hotel restaurant waiters, pool/beach service waiters, lobby/pool bar bartenders, cooks for breakfast buffet and à la carte.

[ 02 ]

Beach restaurants and beach bars

Beach season (May–Sept) creates intense demand for terrace waiters, barbacks and beach bar bartenders. Typical 12–18h shifts, extended weekends. Pay: 4,000–5,500 RON gross/month (full season with lodging + transport).

[ 03 ]

Private events on the coast

Beach weddings, corporate retreats, special hotel events. PHE can backfill the hotel team or supply the full crew.

For employers — recommended rates

Seasonal recruitment rates vary by role complexity, position count, urgency and included benefits (lodging, transport, meals). Market norms in Romania for a 3–5 month seasonal contract sit at 50–80% of one candidate's monthly salary, with adjustments for repeat partnerships or urgent requests. PHE configures the rate per client — request a personalised quote.

Lodging and transport conditions

Major seaside differentiator: lodging and transport are almost always included for candidates from other towns. PHE checks each employer's conditions before recommending candidates.

PHE candidate-lodging standard

If an employer can't meet these conditions, PHE arranges a rental with local partners — cost split between candidate and employer per agreement.

FAQ — Constanța & Mamaia

How much does a seaside waiter earn in the 2026 season?+

Average gross 2026 pay for a Mamaia / Mamaia Nord waiter is 4,000–5,500 RON/month with lodging and meals included. Plus tips (significant when serving international guests) — realistic total 5,000–7,500 RON/month net.

I'm from another city — how does lodging work?+

Most seaside employers offer free or token-cost lodging for out-of-town candidates. Standard: double or triple room, reasonable distance from work. We vet each employer's conditions before recommending candidates. If they can't provide lodging, we arrange private options (PHE-rented apartment for the team).

How long is the season?+

Official 2026 season: May 1 – September 30. Peak: June–August. Pre-season (April) and post-season (October) see lower demand but better tourist rates — many employers start recruiting in March.

Do you have permanent contracts in Constanța or only seasonal?+

Constanța also has year-round hotels and restaurants (city center). For permanent contracts, the employer recruits directly through the PHE platform — posts the job, receives applications. Volume is small outside the season — most offers are seasonal.

Can I work only weekends on the coast?+

Yes, but rarely offered — employers prefer full seasonal contracts. For weekend-only, we recommend premium beach clubs that run weekend-only schedules (Mamaia Nord, Vama Veche). Going rate: 600–900 RON per weekend (Friday+Saturday).

I only speak Romanian — can I work on the coast?+

Yes, but odds and pay improve sharply with English (Mamaia draws UK, DE, NL, IL guests). 4–5★ hotels and beach bars require English. Local restaurants and standard bars are fine with Romanian only. We recommend an intensive pre-season course to access higher-paid roles.

I'm an employer — how fast can you confirm a season team?+

Standard request (5–10 people for a hotel/restaurant): confirmation in 1–2 weeks. Urgent under-7-day requests (e.g. replacing staff after season start): 48–72h — but availability is tight in peak season (July–August).

I'm a student wanting to work the season — do I need experience?+

Not required. Entry-level roles (helper, dishwasher, runner, barback) need zero experience. For waiter, 6–12 months of prior experience is ideal (a restaurant in your home town counts). Cocktail bartender needs at least 1 year.
